Five boxes, each containing 10 contributor copies of “Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Gift of Christmas” were left on my porch by the UPS guy Friday night. I got 50 copies because I have five stories included in this gorgeous hardbound volume.

That’s right—I wrote five of the 124 Christmas stories selected for publication. It’s still hard for me to believe that out of several thousand submissions, five of my very own humorous personal experience stories made the cut.

Word’s out that these books will not be available online, and only one national store will be carrying this edition. They have a special deal with the Chicken Soup people, and exclusive rights to sell it. Except for those contributor copies…

If you live in town, I’ll be doing a couple book signing between now and Christmas. I’ll post the days and locations here in my blog, and on my JanBonoBooks.com website. You can come chat and get an autographed copy directly from me at those times. Or, if you just can’t wait, give me a call and I’ll be happy to meet you at one of the local coffee shops with my books in hand.

Meanwhile, I’m enjoying the heck out of being surrounded by stacks of red and green glossy books here in my office. It may seem a little narcissistic, but I get a rush of happy accomplishment just looking at them. Being a writer is a wonderful thing, but being a nationally published writer is a spine-tingling thrill!
