Today is the birthday of Prince Harry of Wales. He’s 28.
Henry Charles Albert David is the younger son of Charles and Diana. His older brother William, who married Kathryn Middleton earlier this year, will most likely be the King of England someday.
But what about Prince Harry?
The tabloid press dubbed him the “wild child” after being caught smoking “canabis” and partaking in underage drinking at 17. While on holiday in Las Vegas this past August, he was photographed naked in a hotel room, reportedly playing a game of strip billiards.
As I’ve mentioned before, I loosely follow the events of “The Royals,” no doubt in some type of celebrity fascination or awe. What pressure they must be under to be in the spotlight all the time, your every move exposed in the press!
And yes, I admit I looked up the pictures of the naked prince just to see how much of him was actually “exposed.” And yes, I admit I admired his fit physique for a few wistful moments… (I’m not dead yet, you know!)
But there’s much more to this young man than those tabloids would have you believe. From officially representing the Queen at public events such as the Olympics, to flying an Apache helicopter in Afghanistan, despite the youthful indiscretions, he, too, is a credit to his mother.
Cadet Wales, keep up the good work!
