I finally made it to a Mariner’s game last week. And if there hadn’t been “fan interference” with a kid grabbing a ball still in play, and if we’d pulled the pitcher after six innings instead of forcing him to try to throw beyond his obvious ability, and if we’d scored a measly two more runs, you know, we just might have won!

Officially, this week is the All-Star break, the game that’s supposed to showcase the best of the best, with the winning league becoming home host for the World Series. For non-fans, that can amount to a significant advantage in the 7th game at the bottom of the ninth inning!

Unofficially, the All-Star break also marks a little more than mid-point of the season. Which, in my mind at least, means THERE’S STILL TIME for my beloved Ms to make it to the playoffs. All we need is a major miracle, and I happen to believe in miracles.

Hey, it’s too early to give up hope; we’ve only just gelled as a team. We just need to heed the slogan of the season and BELIEVE BIG! By believing in ourselves, our team, and the innate goodness of the universe, all things are possible! Believe ME!

P.S. And if your wedding anniversary happens to be today: Congratulations on 29 years, and may your next 29 be just as happy.
