My last two blog entries have had the words “love affair” in the title, but they’ve really been about plain old passion. To have passion for people, places and events is to envelope ourselves with purpose, commitment, and a “fire in the belly.” A passionate life is certainly something I aspire to.
If you’ve been reading along the last couple days, you know I have a passion for north coast native culture. I also have a passion for horse racing. And then there’s writing. And motorcycles. And traveling. And reading a really good mystery novel. And fishing, I can’t forget fishing! And, and, and…. so many other things, it boggles the mind!
So maybe it’s easier to make a list of things I am NOT passionate about. I know it would be a much shorter list. Much shorter. Like meetings. I am not fond of meetings. Or committees. (A camel is a horse a committee put together.) Toxic things, meetings and committees, and I am passionate about avoiding them. It’s lots more fun, and certainly less stressful, to focus on the things for which I have a genuine passion.
Like my love affair with life.
