My beloved Coastal Writers’ Critique (CWC) began regular bimonthly meetings on July 14, 2006. I have missed very few critique sessions, and am always amazed at what a wealth of information we share and learn at these meetings.
Each of the past four years, I have encouraged all members to “take stock” of how far they’ve come in accomplishing their writing goals. Naturally, I make a list myself.
The year between July 2009-2010, I have seen one one-act play produced, and another “in rehearsal” for the end of next month. I’ve had three stories accepted by Chicken Soup for the Soul, and have submitted several more for consideration. I had a story and a poem accepted in RAIN Magazine. I continue to write my blog every odd-numbered day, and am in the process of outlining my first novel. But my greatest “success” this writing year was the publication of “Just Joshin’, A Year in the Life of a Not-so-ordinary 4th Grade Kid.” It was a 20-year labor of love to write that book, and I’m happy as a clam at high tide to finally have it published!
“Writers write because they cannot not write.” However, we do have bills to pay. So if you’d like to buy any of my books, please click on the ORDER FORM in the side bar. I’d be happy to send your selections personally signed to you one in the return mail!
Meanwhile, I’ll keep on keeping on. ONE OF THESE DAYS I’m gonna make it big!
