RAIN Magazine is the annual literary production of students and staff at Clatsop Community College. Each year, stories, poems and pictures are solicited from the community in late fall, and a gala reception celebrates another edition’s completion in the spring.
Putting the magazine together takes a great deal of time and talent, and each year, Nancy Cook, the able advisor, starts all over again guiding and assisting a fresh crew.
I have a story included in RAIN 2011. I’ve had stories or poems accepted each year for at least the past decade, and look forward to seeing old friends at the reception tomorrow. All RAIN authors in attendance will have an opportunity to read their own work.
IT’S A PARTY, and you’re invited! It’s in the building at the very top of 16th Street (turn off Commercial at the Custard King). When you run out of road, turn left. The readings begin at 6 p.m., and please plan on staying till the very end, sometime before 10 o’clock. It’s only fair that the selections farther back in the book enjoy the same number in the audience listening to them.
Hope to see you there! Be sure to say ‘Hi’!
