I attended a Josh Groban concert at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon, late last summer. I wrote all about my experience on the 31st of August.
Now, I’m not one to go all ga-ga over celebrities, to fly across the country to see them in numerous concerts, to stalk them at coffee shops to get an autograph, or a candid photo of them picking their nose to sell to the Enquirer, or anything as ludicrous as that. I appreciate a person’s talent, and I respect their personal privacy.
But a Facebook page is out there for the world to see, and I’ll admit I’ve been keeping tabs on Josh for the past few months. More and more, I appreciate not just his amazing talent, but the work he does as an all-American kid, out to make the world a better place.
Josh began the “Find Your Light Foundation” to help enrich the lives of young people through arts, education, and cultural awareness. He’s a real human being behind that celebrity status, and when he says in the video on his fan page, “Let’s play scrabble sometime soon,” I find myself wanting to get in line for that honor.
I rarely “Like” a celebrity’s page, but for Josh, I made an exception: I am fan #1,228,319, and proud of it. Atta boy, Josh! Keep up the good work!
