My heart is in my throat as I look at the calendar today. We’ve flown by the “two-week warning bell.” Opening Night for “A Christmas Trilogy: Three Holiday One-Acts” at the River City Playhouse in Ilwaco is fast approaching, and I’m so excited I can hardly contain myself.
I love being a playwright, and when “A Christmas Trilogy” hits the stage, I’ll see my seventh, eighth and ninth plays performed in just two and a half years. Eight of them are one-acts and one is a dinner theater mystery, which was performed in Imperial, Nebraska, last December. I hope to see it done somewhere a little closer to home real soon.
Although I love directing, I was much too busy this season going to bazaars and readings, selling my new Christmas books to direct any of these three plays, but I know they are in capable hands. The holiday one-act scripts are included in my book, (along with 48 humorous stories), so I’ve been promoting the plays at all my events.
Tickets are already on sale for “A Christmas Trilogy,” or you can get them at the door, if still available. Thanks to a Templin Foundation Grant, we have 100 new, cushy chairs to fill, and I’m thinking we’re going to do just that!
December 2 through 11, Friday and Saturday shows at 7 p.m., Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.
Be sure to say “Hi!” I’ll be at all the performances!
