My 700th blog post appeared on the Winter Solstice last Friday, which makes today’s post number 703. Wow! Seven hundred three blog posts in less than 3 years. That’s something! … But what?
For the first two years I posted on every odd numbered day. In 2012, I posted on every day divisible by three, except for the first of the month, on which I always put up a blog.
My topics thus far have been quite eclectic—a mishmash of random musings, if you will. Last May I did a daily series on my Italy/Austria adventure and even figured out how to post pictures with my writing, a practice I still continue. In September, I did another daily series, following my England/Scotland trip.
Between travels, it’s been catch as catch can. If asked, “What’s your blog about?” I’ve had no clear answer. I don’t know if that has helped or hurt my readership numbers—it’s just the way I’ve preferred to do things.
But now I’m balanced precariously on the eve of another possible blog modification. I’m considering taking my readers along as I embark on my second novel. I’m thinking about keeping a blog-journal of my entire process, first word to last. Being “accountable” in this manner will no doubt keep my nose somewhere near the grindstone, and it will be fun to see what I accomplish between posts.
So I’d like to invite you to follow along as I write Book Number Two in the Sylvia Avery Mystery Series. Except I’m not sure when that’s actually going to start. I thought I’d be ready on January first, but that’s not going to happen. Maybe later this week… I know I’ll get there soon, and when I do, it’s going to be a HOOT!
