Yep, that’s Rick sitting there, the King of his domain! After seven weeks of hospitalization, he’s back at home, surrounded by surroundings that don’t look much like those he left behind nearly two months ago.
And yes, his apartment’s miraculous transformation came about because nobody held me back when I decided to exercise my latent designer eye.
If the drapes are red, the bedspread needs some follow-through in a red design. The complementary wall picture, or at least the frame, also needs to be in a coordinating color. And if you find a new chair that may not match? Well, that’s what afghans and slipcovers are for!
I had a good time creating a homey environment for Rick’s homecoming. Now the hard part begins: Keeping it nice and tidy when someone is actually living here!
