Yeah, if I truly believed in hell, which I occasionally think I might, then that’s where I’m probably headed for posting my title question today.
Today is “Good Friday,” the day the man named Jesus allegedly died on the cross 2,000 years ago, sandwiched conveniently in between “Maundy Thursday” (a.k.a. The Last Supper) and the day celebrating his purported resurrection, commonly referred to as “Easter.”
If you’ve been reading my blog posts the past month or so, you know I’ve been questioning, challenging, and throwing doubt at things “religious.” I suppose it’s a life-long phase I’m going through, as I’ve been seeking answers for decades.
Way back before my association with my current MF (Minister Friend), I told my previous minister that I truly believed “it takes and egg and a sperm” to conceive a human, even one named Jesus.
And today I find myself wondering today about the so-called conclusion to his earthly life. After all, just a couple hundred years ago, people were regularly “buried alive” in England, having been pronounced dead before their time. The scratches inside the coffin lids confirm this.
So I want to know who the on-call M.E. was when Jesus was pronounced dead. M.E. as in Medical Examiner. Seriously! I want names and credentials! M.E.’s are only human, and mistakes do happen!
Wowza! I can tell there’s a lot of eye-rolling going on among my readers right now. I can’t help it; I’m a seeker. I seek to know, with 100% concrete, indisputable assurance.
Lacking that, I suppose I’ll have to consider changing my name to Thomas.
