The Ides of March usually conjures up visions of doom and gloom in the minds of the Shakespeare literate crowd. But I’ve got a different take on it.

Today I’m celebrating 75 consecutive days on my food and exercise plan, AND a weight loss of 30 pounds since New Year’s Day! Less-hip, Less-hip, Hooray! (Pat yourself heartily on the back if you got that joke!)

Seventy-five days down, and the rest of my life to go.  This isn’t a “diet,” it’s a health and fitness plan. When you go “on” a diet, eventually you’ll go “off” the diet. And we all know what happens then. So why set myself up for that? I prefer to eat smart, exercise regularly, and enjoy the benefits of optimum health.

One day at a time, from here to eternity.
