Even before the arrival of daylight savings time last week, spring was in the air. Spring in the smell of the first lawn cutting. Spring in the sounds of frogs croaking and birds singing. And more spring in my step as I spend additional time outdoors, walking my way to a smaller swimsuit size this summer!
My health and fitness guru, Dr. Oz, suggests 10,000 steps per day. That’s approximately five miles. Five miles a day seems like an awful lot! But the secret is that you don’t have to do it all in one straight shot, and it includes every single step you take all day. Whew!
So walking a couple laps on the boardwalk in addition to riding my recumbent bike 30-35 miles a day is a great way to welcome in the new spring season. Please join me in committing to walking and biking toward our fitness goals. We can do it together!
