“They say” to instantly improve your posture, imagine there’s a string at the top of your head that is pulling your head upward. Improved posture, “they say,” aligns your organs and spine, clears your breathing, and makes you more comfortable, balanced and awake. And all of those things, “they say,” help us cope with stress and access more brainpower.

So let’s recap: When I sit up straight, there’s a greater possibility that I am stress free and smarter. Sounds good, until I start ruminating about the metaphorical nuances of being a marionette and get all tied up in knots again.

Or maybe I’m getting my wires crossed. Or I’m hanging by a thread. Or I’m on a short tether. Or at the end of my rope. Or maybe I’m just jerking your chain…

Sit up straight now, and you’re guaranteed a better day! Or so “they say.”
