It appears I’ve crossed the invisible age barrier and become a part of “them.” I’m now one of those people who used to annoy the crap out of people like me by comparing everything going on today with how wonderful it used to be when they were young.

Take Halloween, for instance. I know it’s not just me when I say that Halloween sure ain’t what it used to be. Remember when door-to-door trick-or-treat goodies didn’t have to be X-rayed to check for razor blades or other sharp objects?

Heck, most kids today will never even experience the excitement of trick-or-treating. Makes me sad to watch yet another American classic tradition fall by the wayside. I’m feeling a lot nostalgic these days. Must mean I’m getting old.

But not too old to put on a costume and think about soaping a few windows. Say “Abso-freakin-lutely!” if you’d like to TP a few houses yourself tonight…
